Books are everywhere, but do we really need to keep buying them from big named shops. My local library can track down a book for 80p instead of paying out £5.99p for the average book if not a lot more. What happens to your books when you have finished with them? I have recently found that we have about two large bookcases full of books scattered around the house, but how many of those are we going to read again or have we ever read. I know I have about 30 books under my bed which I have not read so my aim now is to read them and then give them to my local library for others to read. The charity shop will benefit from them as well. We cut down too many trees to produce a brand new books, do we really need to when we have library’s that have a full selection of wonderful books. My aim over 2009 is not to buy another book but to read more because I do love to read. The library is an exciting place for children as well, my boys love going to the library, they get very excited about it.

This was the second book i bought to set me on the path of green living, it is full of useful information from minimising household rubbish to teaching your children to be green, i am really enjoying it. This book is really worth a look at as its jammed packed full.

Crammed full of quick, easy and simple tips, The lazy girls guide to green living is ideal for any lazy girl willing to become greener in order to save the planet.I found this book and thought it was great for a beginners crash cause in green living, its simple but really effective, its not to in your face and scary but runs through the basics. I like it because it is not to over powering.
I found mine at Play, com but why not save yourself £5.99 and go to the library.
After buying my babycare book by DK I have come to realise that DK has bought out a few books which are made with care. I think all books should be made this way.
- They recycle 91% of the water needed during manufacturing
- There card is recycled.
- There printer has reduced its carbon footprints by 52% since 1994, it generates 100% of its own electricity.
- They use vegetable inks which are not made from petroleum products.
- These books do not come with a dust cover but a very well made outer skin.
Check out there website for more of these books at www.dk.com/madewithcare

I bought this book that i found in healthy and organic living and i really like it, it has giving me a lot to think about when having our next baby. I bought this from play.com and it was at my door in 2 days. It has tough me that a baby only needs essentials, that he/she doesn’t need the elaborate things that manufacturers try and sell us, i have been in this trap before and i am not going there again. The book is 100% recycled which is a perfect example of being green.
